Take advantage of ongoing wealth from waste innovation, Oyo Govt charges youth

Oyo State Government has called on residents of the state particularly the youths to take advantage of the new innovation of creating wealth from waste which has commenced in the state .

The government also urged individuals to develop proper waste management culture to further achieve a clean and healthy environment.

Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Architect Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola , made the call at the weekend shortly after a practical demonstration of sweeping exercise in Ibadan metropolis .

The sweeping exercise was part of the activities marking the 2024 World Cleanup Day in Oyo state themed ” Make Room for Life “

Architect Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, while speaking with journalists noted that efforts of the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration at ensuring a cleaner, sustainable Environment is already yielding positive result.

He hinted that the latest environmental ranking excluded Oyo state from the list of the ten dirtiest in the country.

He affirmed that the governor is determined at leaving a solid legacy, where the State would be among the first three cleanest States in the country.

The Commissioner admonished the public to make cleanliness their priority and see it as a deliberate effort, towards making room for a better living, devoid of diseases and preventable disaster .

He equally called for collaboration of relevant stakeholders with the consultants engaged by the government on the new innovation of creating wealth from waste.

Achitect Mogbonjubola, however reiterated the commitment of government to embarking on enforcement against unrepentant individuals, household, organizations, market places in accordance with the stipulated laws .

The event featured the display of new products, manufactured from wastes to prove the genuineness of creating wealth from waste to members of the public.
