Tinubu Swears -in Justice Kekere Ekun As Acting CJN

— expresses confidence in her leadership

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday sworn in Justice Kekere Ekun as the Chief Justice of Nigeria in acting capacity pending the confirmation by the Senate.

President Tinubu,while speaking at the swearing in ceremony attended by dignitaries ,government officials, and members of the judiciary at the Presidential Villa , Abuja, commended Justice Ekun for her dedication and commitment to the rule of law.

He expressed confidence that her leadership will ensure justice is served to Nigerians , and also uphold the independence and integrity of the judiciary.

In response, Justice Ekun, pledged to lead the Nation’s judiciary with fairness, transparency, and a renewed commitment to upholding the constitution.

Justice Ekun replaces Justice Olukayode Ariwoola , who retired from service on August 22 , 2024 .
