Abduction: PDP Chieftain, Benedict Akika Regains Freedom After Six Days

A philanthropist and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo state, Chief Benedict Akika, who was kidnapped recently by unknown gunmen has regained freedom.

It was gathered that Chief Akika was freed On Wednesday after spending six days in the custody of his
abductors who broke into his residence in Olorunda , Ibadan and took him to an unknown destination.

Chief Akika is reported to have been taken to an undisclosed medical facility for assessment.

It was unclear at the time of writing this report whether ransom was paid or otherwise.
