#EndBadGovernance Protests: Normalcy Returns In Kano As Govt Lifts Curfew

The Kano State Government has lifted the curfew imposed on the city due to the crisis emanated during the just concluded #EndBadGovernance protests in the state .

The decision comes after violence rocked the city, resulting in the destruction and looting of property worth billions of naira.

In a statement released on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Facebook page on Monday, his media aide , Salisu Yahya Hotoro, announced the lifting of the curfew.

Normalcy gradually returns in the state following the announcement by the governor’s media aide .

“The 24-hour curfew imposed on Kano has been effectively lifted as peace has completely returned to the city,” the statement read.

Initially, a 24-hour curfew was imposed to contain the situation, which was later relaxed to 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to allow for business activities.
