

…as MMPN, Information Branch Holds Annual Ramadan Lecture/Iftar
An Ibadan based Islamic cleric, Ustaz Tirimisiyu Oyegoke on Thursday emphasized the importance of unity and oneness among Muslims.
This call to action was made during the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Information Branch’s Annual Ramadan lecture and Iftar, held at Masjid Al-Awaal, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking on the topic “Understanding Contemporary Challenges in Islam and Way Forward”, Ustaz Tirimisiyu, admonished Muslims to be more United and promote Islamic values to address contemporary challenges.
The cleric also reminded Muslims about the significance of unity and oneness in their faith, adding that embracing these values, they can build stronger, more harmonious communities that reflect the true spirit of Ramadan.
Ustaz Tirimisiyu noted that the Quran is a light and blessing for those who abide by its teachings and apply such in their daily activities.

He further emphasized that Islam teaches morals, politics, trade, and all aspects of life.
He reminded Muslims that Allah commands them to embrace good deeds and forbid bad acts at all times.
” Today, some Muslims undervalue Islamic values, and this is crucial to uphold because Islam teaches morals, politics, and other aspects of life”
“We must promote Islamic values, unite, and avoid tribalism, despite our differences, as Muslims, we should be one.”
Earlier, the Branch Coordinator, Alhaji Daud Agboola, welcomed the newly appointed officers and those who had recently converted to the Ministry of Information.
He explained that the program aimed at promoting spiritual growth and self-improvement.
“This is our way of doing jihad as Muslim media practitioners,” he said.
In their separate remarks, the National President of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, Alhaji Abdulrahman Balogun and the State Chairman, Alhaji Abdul Rofihi Adebayo, commended the Information Branch of the Association for sustaining its Annual Ramadan Lecture and Iftar program.
Collaborating the Guest Speaker, the duo urged members and Muslims in general to put aside tribalism and promote unity for Muslims to be in the fore-front .
They equally lauded the Guest Speaker for a well educative and impactful sermon, and prayed to Allah to increase him in wisdom and knowledge.
