NAPAIS cautions CAN, Afenifere against opposing Sharia Panels in South West

The National Association of Proprietors of Arabic and Islamic Schools, NAPAIS, South West chapter has embarked on nationwide tour to other five geo-political zones in the country.
The tour was borne out of the association’s strong determination to emplace and formalise feasibly active Zonal chapters in the North West, North Central, North East, South East and South South, with the South West chapter being the pioneer of NAPAIS.
The academic cum spiritual voyage was rounded off at Abuja with strategic courtesy visits to key stakeholders and issuance of Communiqué jointly signed by the NAPAIS President, Sheikh Muhammadu-Jamiu Abdulgafar and the Secretary, Sheikh Mufutau Salaudeen reflecting the state of the nation.
In the Communiqué, all Arabic and Islamic Schools in the South West in particular, and across Nigeria in general appreciate efforts of President Bola Tinubu, his immediate predecessor, former president Muhammadu Buhari and the 9th national assembly for the approval of Almajiri and Out-of-School Commission.
In the same vein, NAPAIS extends deserved thanks to the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Olatunji Moruf Alausa and the Executive Secretary of the commission, Dr Idris Muhammad Sani for their considerate efforts towards sustaining the Almajiri and Out-of-School Commission.
The association commends the South West Muslim Ummah for fostering unity of purpose towards establishing Sharia Panels in major cities and developed towns across the six states of Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, and Lagos.
NAPAIS finds it instructive to educate the unknown elements that Sharia arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution method devoid of unnecessary delays and frivolous litigation costs. The panels have been in existence at Oja’ba, Ibadan, Oyo State since 1st May, 2002; Abesan Central Mosque, Ipaja, Lagos and Egba Muslims Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, Ogun state with seamless proceedings. So, why the fuss and shedding crocodile tears in recent times?
We, as the torchbearer in Sharia Law has the rare honour of producing the Judges who are versed in Islamic jurisprudence under the tutelage of scholars feel obligated to warn non-Muslim organizations to desist from unwarranted complaints about an exclusively Islamic affairs for Muslims.
NAPAIS also cautions the so-called Afenifere and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN to refrain from further heating up the peaceful atmosphere in the South West.
This warning is against the backdrop of usual antagonism of these organizations to Islam, whereas Muslims who are in the majority adopt the live and let live principle to engender harmonious and peaceful coexistence.
NAPAIS calls on governors of the South West states, who are the Chief Security Officers in their respective states to accord topmost priority to peace and security and to also prevail on those deploying gimmicks to trample upon the Muslim rights guaranteed under the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, under their watch.
We can not forget how CAN and Afenifere subtly queued behind a non-South West candidate for the 2023 presidential contest, opposing the candidature of a Yoruba Muslim on the claim of opposing Muslim-Muslim ticket as if religion is an albatross. Lo and behind the two organizations have activated their silence mode now that Christians are considered far more than Muslims in appointments from the South West. What a hypocritical stance!
For the purpose of emphasis, non-Muslims in cahoot with moles in government lack locus standi to oppose, or antagonise the exercise of our constitutionally guaranteed freedom of religion. The establishment of Sharia Panels is in line with the secularity of the Nigerian state being a multi-religious sovereign country under God.
Let the fifth columnists and meddlesome Interlopers be mindful of national peace, harmony and tolerant for mutually harmonious living.
