Ogasibe FC Wins Rep Your Street Season 2 Football Challenge in Oyo
Ogasibe Football Club have been crowned champions of Rep Your Street Football Challenge (season II) , following a 2-0 victory over worthy rivals , Olawoyin Football Club.
The final of the football challenge organized by Hyzik Media Concept in Collaboration with Emmy Tee Fitness and Humanitarian Service Foundation, saw both sides putting up spectacular performances to the delight of their fans cum spectators at the Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Stadium, Akesan , Oyo .
Ogasibe’s efforts produced a goal in each half of the thrilling encounter. Akorede Ibraheem opened the scoring , while Ismail Rokeeb added the second goal to lift the trophy.
In a chat with journalists, the Chief Executive Officer, Hyzik Media Concept , Dayo Ojo , popularly known as Okocha, hinted that the championship was put together to develop talents at the grassroots.
He identified lack of substantial sponsorship as major challenge and appealed for sponsorship and collaboration by corporate organizations and individuals .
He appreciated the Chairman , Emmy Tee Fitness and Humanitarian Service Foundation for deeming it worthy to partner with the tournament, donating befitting jerseys to first and second positions and other numerous supports .
Speaking, the Chief Executive Officer, Emmy Tee Fitness and Humanitarian Service Foundation, Oluwashina Ojediran , popularly known as Emmy Tee,said the tournament was supported due to his passion for sports.
Ojediran, represented at the event by Mr. Ishola Lawal, emphasized the need to invest in sports , describing it as a lucrative business.
” As you can see, everybody is well-coordinated, and we are happy with the turn out .The organizers are great, they are really amazing.
” Sport is not just a game, It’s a business, this is why we want people to always support sports, particularly, grassroots sports “
” I think the next edition will be more, more, colorful than this. So, we are very happy”
In his contribution, Prince Kehinde Oladimeji , the special guest of honour, advised the youths to engage in sporting activities, saying this would prevent social vices in the community.
Nigerian Artist, Prince Adetona Adeyemi, Tila Man, submitted that the football challenge remains a platform that unite the people of Oyo town .
He advocated for continuous organization and promotion of sporting activities with a view to inspiring the younger generation.
Highlights of the final match were presentation of a giant trophy to the winner and cash gifts to the first, second and third positions.
