OYMASED, OYSHMB to collaborate on Re-Orientation of Health Care Workers
The Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development, (OYMASED) has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Oyo State Hospital Management Board on Re-Orientation of its workforce for effective service delivery.
The Director General, OYMASED, Dr Morohunkola Thomas stated this while paying a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Oyo State Hospital Management Board in his office, Secretariat, Ibadan.
According to Dr Thomas,an effective health care delivery is a major component of socio-economic development of any state, hence the need to take a cursory look at it.
‘Attitude of health care givers impact greatly on the way a patient will respond, our health care givers should please ensure they give their best while discharging their duties’, he added.
The OYMASED DG also called on the Board to ensure that the capacity of the health workers are built so as to have a greater productivity.
‘ The capacity of Frontline health care workers should be built so as to have an excellence in service’.
Responding, the Chairman,Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr Akin Fagbemi said the Board has Over four thousand (4000)workers inclusive of newly recruited in various Hospitals and Clinics across the State.
He said there has been a positive change in the workforce in line with the Omitutun 2.O agenda of the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
The OYSHMB Chairman added that a lot of monitoring has been going on across all health care facilities in the state and this is to ensure that patients get the best treatment at the State hospitals.
While assuring OYMASED of their support, Dr Akin Fagbemi said Public Service Leaders should ensure that they do not create unnecessary bottle necks for lower cadre officers so that they can have effective service delivery and help in strengthening the system by their conduct.
