Oyo Born Teenage Table Tennis Player Shines At ITTF Championship, Wins Gold Medal For Nigeria
Oyo Born Teenage Table Tennis Player, Kabirat Ayoola, has made Oyo State and Nigeria proud at the just concluded ITTF Western Africa Regional Championship held in Lome , Togo.
The 17 year old player won gold medal at the tournament , a feat that attested to her brilliancy at the state level .
In a press statement by the Director, Media and Communication, Oyo State Sports Council, Tunde Ajibike , quoted the Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the State, Honorable Wasilat Adegoke that the gold medalist had earlier won a lot of medals for Oyo State at Cadet junior and senior categories.
The Honorable Commissioner stated further that Kabirat Ayoola lost her single event at the quarter final, she was defeated by Ghana player 3 – 2 adding that Team Nigeria in which Ayoola Kabirat was part of the team won Gold at the competition.
She remarked further that Oyo State is proud of Nigeria Table Tennis Team (both men and women) that represented Nigeria at the just concluded ITTF Championship for their outstanding and laudable performance.
Team Nigeria won three (3) gold medals and two (2) silver at the Championship.
