Oyo Govt to launch Utility Card at Lekan Salami Stadium

The Oyo State Ministry of Youths and Sports has hinted that it is launching a Utility Card for payments and other operations at the Lekan Salami Stadium , Adamasingba , Ibadan.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan.
The Commissioner hinted that the utility card was designed to simplify fee collections at the Stadium, adding that the introduction of the utility card for contactless payments is the first of such innovation in a West African stadium.
She declared that the innovative utility card will also revolutionize payment processes for services and events at the stadium, offering sports fans and other users of the stadium a hassle – free cashless experience.
According to the Commissioner, the utility card will promote efficiency and convenience in managing stadium access and services.
“This initiative is part of the state’s larger agenda to modernize sports infrastructure and improve service delivery at all sporting facilities. The Oyo State Utility Card will serve as a versatile payment tool for ticketing, parking, concessions, and other stadium services”, Hon. Adegoke said.
The utility card which goes for ₦500, can be easily recharged via bank apps, POS devices, and at the stadium itself, offering multiple convenient options for users.
The Commissioner further stated that the integration of the card into the stadium’s payment system will occur in phases, with regular updates provided to the public to ensure smooth adoption.

She encouraged members of the public, sports enthusiasts and other stakeholders to support the innovation which she described as another milestone in Governor Seyi Makinde’s ongoing efforts to improve sports infrastructure and deliver world-class services to the people of Oyo State.
