Shooting Stars beat Crown FC to reclaim Oyo State Federation Cup

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Sunday defeated hard fighting Crown FC of Ogbomoso 4-2 via penalties to emerge the champions of the 2025 Oyo State Federation Cup.

The final match decided at the Lekan Salami stadium was evenly contested as the game ended goalless.

Shooting Stars created most of the chances in the encounter but were unable to convert any of the chances as Crown also showed up in the game strongly.

In the ensuing shootout, the Oluyole Warriors converted four kicks via Mustapha Adams, Ikouwem Utim, Bamidele Ayodeji and Gbolagade Adelowo,

3SC goalkeeper, Mustapha Lawal, who replaced impressive goalkeeper, Anozie Chindeu towards the end of the game, justified his introduction as he saved two of Crown’s penalty kicks.

Both teams will hoist the state’s flag in the national finals of the President Federation Cup.

The Oluyole Warriors had lost in last year’s final through penalty shootout to Ilaji FC.
