Action Football Club of Oyo came from behind on Tuesday to emerge champions of the Second Edition of Annual Ramadan Football Competition, sponsored by the Executive Chairman, Atiba Local Government, Hon . Wahab Waliu, popularly known as WABKEM.
Oyo Alaafin Football Club got the lead in the second half of the final match played at the St.Bernadine Girls Grammar School, Oyo via penalty kick converted by Hammed Basiru.
Ojerinde Boluwatife put Action FC on the track as the regulation time ended 1-1 .
Action FC converted five penalties during the penalty kicks , while their long time rivals , Oyo Alaafin FC lost one to give out the trophy to the eventual winners .
The Chairman, Atiba Local Government, Hon.Wahab Waliu in a chat with journalists, harped on the need for players and coaches to promote the spirit of sportsmanship among themselves.
Hon. Wahab, represented at the event by Mr. Goke Azeez , admonished the players to make discipline their watch word.
The champions , Action FC were rewarded with a trophy and cash , while second and third positions received cash prizes .
The final match was graced by football enthusiasts and relevant stakeholders.
