Oyo State Football Association, under the leadership of the Alakinyele of Akinyele, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr) James Oluyemi Odeniran, in collaboration with Peculiar Ultimate, have picked Monday, 30th December, 2024 for the final of Governor Seyi Makinde (GSM) U-20 Football League.
Rehoboth Football Academy, Ibadan and AFRAS Football Academy, Iseyin are to compete for the first position by 3pm at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Third place match will also hold at above pitch between Muhibbat Football Academy, Iseyin and Ana Football Academy, Ibadan by 1pm .
The State F.A Boss and Peculiar Ultimate, who evolved the league have vowed that the competition will be an annual event, stressing that the initiative aligns with Governor Makinde’s vision of creating the opportunities for youth development in the state.
Oba (Dr) Odeniran, while commending Governor Seyi Makinde for creating the platform for the budding talents, said that the youths have benefitted from GSM administration in no mean feat.
He said:“We’re incredibly proud to be associated with Governor Seyi Makinde for this laudable initiative. His outstanding performance in governance has inspired us and a lot of talents have been discovered from this tournament “.
The Secretary, Oyo State Football Association, Mr. Kehinde Ojelowo, affirmed that the prizes for the winners will be ₦500,000 while ₦300,000, will go to the Runner-up and third position will receive ₦200,000 .
The Additional awards will be given for Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Referee.
