The Information and Communication Sector, on Tuesday , commenced their campaign in the Oyo State 2026 Public Service Football competition with a 4-1 thrashing of the Tourism and Economic Development Sector.
The match, which kicked off at 9:56 in the morning at the Ikolaba High School, Ibadan, saw the Information and Communication Sector taking the lead nine minutes into the game through Alimi Azeez.
The Tourism and Economic Development Sector equalised through an indirect free kick in the box after a Goalkeeping error in the 15th minute to make the score 1–1.
Six minutes later, the Information and Communication Sector was awarded a penalty which was converted by Alimi Azeez to give his team the lead again. They added the third goal through Abiola Salawu from a corner kick before the end of the first half, which ended 3–1 in their favour.
Bukola Ibrahim sealed the victory with the fourth goal for the Information and Communication Sector , ten minutes after the commencement of the second stanza of the thrilling encounter.
The match ended 4–1, with the Information and Communication Sector securing a.deserved victory over the Tourism and Economic Development Sector .
Up next for the Information and Communication Sector is an encounter with Justice and Legal Sector on Thursday at the same pitch.Thursday’s opponents played a 1-1 draw with the Legislative Sector earlier on Monday.
