China has been asked not to provide weapons to Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
US President, Donald trump in an interview on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo, said he wrote directly to Xi Beijing following reports suggesting that China might be supplying arms to Iran. According to him, Xi responded in writing, denying any such involvement.

The development comes ahead of Trump’s scheduled visit to China on May 14–15 for a bilateral summit with Xi, which had earlier been postponed due to the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

The situation has added a new layer of tension to already complex relations between the United States and China. China remains a major importer of Iranian oil, placing it in a sensitive position as the conflict unfolds.

Meanwhile, Beijing has criticized recent U.S. actions, including the blockade of Iranian ports, describing them as “dangerous and irresponsible,” while maintaining that it intends to play a constructive role in promoting peace in the region.
Trump also addressed reports of a possible Chinese cyberattack on U.S. institutions, stating that cyber operations occur on both sides, underscoring the ongoing rivalry between the two powers.
